FAQ
What are your opening hours?
Standard hours at Sydney City Acupuncture are 9am – 6pm Mon-Fri.
Do you take appointments after hours?
Yes, we may arrange suitable times outside our normal hours.
Where are you located?
Our clinic is conveniently located in the Dymocks Building, 428 George St, Sydney, between Myer and The Strand Arcade. We are about halfway between Town Hall and Wynyard Stations, but the walk from Town Hall is easier and more pleasant (go under the QVB and pop up at Myer on the corner of George and Market).
Will I be able to claim a health fund rebate?
Yes, depending on your level of cover. Please check with your health fund to be sure. Most health funds now offer cover for acupuncture and some cover Chinese herbal medicine.
Can I claim on-the-spot?
Yes, for eligible patients our HealthPoint facility means you only pay the gap amount. You won’t need to make a seperate claim, or join the queue at your health fund office (unless you are with HCF, but their office is just across the road).
What patients do you normally treat?
We treat all kinds of people in the City of Sydney area. Our patients come from all walks of life (and work) and are a constant reminder of the diversity of our city. We welcome anyone who cares about their health and wants to experience the benefits of Chinese medicine.
What conditions do you normally treat?
We treat a wide variety of conditions, from sore muscles to gynecological problems to stress. Please see Conditions We Treat for a thorough list. Our main areas of specialty are musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, and women’s health. Other areas of interest are sleep disorders, digestive problems, and skin conditions.
Are you professionally qualified?
Yes. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Health Science – Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from the University of Technology, Sydney and is accredited with the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept MasterCard and Visa, but not American Express.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on the seriousness of your health problem and how long you’ve had it for. At your first consultation we will suggest the approximate number of treatments necessary. A general guide is 4 to 6 treatments, and we’ll see how you’re going from there.
How do acupuncture and herbs work?
Acupuncture and herbs work by bringing the body’s systems back into balance so that the body can heal itself.
Are your herbs safe?
We use the highest quality herbs on the market which are permitted for use by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Chinese herbal medicine is very safe when prescribed by a qualified practitioner.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand that at times it may be difficult to keep your appointment. To be fair to us and our other patients, all we ask is that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend. This way we can accommodate other patients who also require treatment.
For short-notice (less than 24 hours) cancellations or missed appointments you may be charged the full appointment fee.
